“decondition the ingrained patterns of self-suppression that so often contribute to illness.”
Every so often, when I’m reading Gabor Mate’s powerful book The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness and Healing in a Toxic Culture, I come across a line that brings me up short. “decondition the ingrained patterns of self-suppression that so often contribute to illness,” is a sentence fragment of a paragraph near the end of the book and to me, this collection of words precisely sums up the root cause of chronic illness as it presents in my clients.
I am seeing clients in person now, as well as virtually, in my office in the Jolene Dawn Wellness Collective on Seymour Street in Kamloops. If you’re in town and want to talk to me about, well anything, call me at 250 318-2079 and we can meet in person.
Are you living with an ingrained pattern of self-suppression that has contributed to your illness?
